The first city ever to gain selection three times for hosting the Olympic Games, London, England is where all eyes will turn in the summer of 2010. The organisers need to build Accommodation in London for approximately 18500 atheletes. London won its bid for the games back in 2005 during the 117th IOC Session, held in Singapore. Notable competitors for the bid were Moscow, New York City, Madrid, and Paris. The motto of the upcoming games is an optimistic “Live as one”, and it is estimated that 205 different nations and 18,500 athletes will compete.

London’s Olympic Park will be situated in a revitalized Stratford, and a wide range of venues are to be featured, including both existing historic facilities and brand new ones created specifically for the 2012 games. Still, in an attempt to avoid leaving behind otherwise useless and expensive venues after the 2012 Olympics are over, organizers intend to create sites that will either be reintegrated into regular London affairs in the wake of the games or be moved outside the city.

Currently, organizers of the big event believe that approximately eight million tickets will be available for the 2012 Olympic Games and one and half million available for the Paralympic Games. Although tickets were available from March 2010, the sales will not take place until the spring of 2011. On this day, anyone who has ordered a ticket will be allowed free use of any London public transportation so as to reduce traffic problems. It is expected that about 82% of Olympic tickets and 63% of Paralympic tickets will actually be sold.

Two different emblems have been created for the games. The first, designed by Kino Design, was produced for the bidding process, and the other, made by Wolff Olins at a cost of four hundred thousand pounds, is now the official logo. This design involves an abstract depiction of the year “2012″ with the Olympic Rings placed in the zero and is to be shown in four different colors: orange, green, magenta, and blue. Even though the polled opinion of the design has so far been low, clothes bearing the brand have enjoyed successful sales since 2008.

During its bid, London elected to feature a total of 26 games with 38 disciplines, which has become the final number, and the Paralympics will have 20 sports and 21 disciplines all together. Though the city’s bid initially included a roster of 28 sports, the IOC voted to drop baseball and softball. They will stay Olympic sports, though they will not be played again until the IOC verdict changes.

There will be millions of visitors to London for the 2012 Olympic Games and there will definately be enough Accommodation in London for everyone. If you are looking for Accommodation in London check out http://www.boardandlodgings.com/London/London/City
